I.Mer Area Reader (AR) System

Automatic Ink Level Determination

Why It Matters

In traditional “ink key” based technologies, tuning ink levels is often a complex process requiring highly skilled operators – especially when areas of light and heavy coverage are close together.

By eliminating variables and auto-processing pre-press files, I.Mer’s Area Reader system optimizes ink levels across the entire plate without the headaches.

Reduced skills…reduced time…reduced waste…better results.

How It Works

The Automatic Reader (AR) system analyzes image density directly from prepress files, determining precise ink requirements across narrow bands.

It then translates this “density map” into contact times for each segment of I.Mer’s Divided Ductor roller, automatically sending control information directly to the I.Mer Ink Preset Control (IPC) system which manages ink delivery during production.

While automation does the precision work, you’re still in control with “set-it-and-forget-it” features including…

• Set press configuration
• Set plate Size
• Preset IPC system parameters
• Set rotation/mirror
• Auto process for multiple press sizes
• Output to different press specific folders
• “Hot Folder” auto-processing
• Process folder as single job
• Open and inspect PPF Files
• Color preview/coverage calculation
• Auto-process PPF, PDF or TIFF files
• Auto delete old files
