Watch I.Mer Technology In Action
At the left of the video frame you see the ink fountain with a small reservoir of ink. This reservoir is constantly maintained by I.Mer’s Automatic Cassette Changer (ACC), ensuring a uniform ink film thickness across the entire width of the fountain roller.
Segments of the I.Mer Divided Ductor (IPC) roller contact the fountain roller only when needed based on the pre-scanned image profile created by I.Mer’s Area Reader (AR)
- Contact is longest (therefore delivering the most ink) in areas of heavy coverage
- Contact is intermittent in areas of lighter coverage
- No contact is made in areas of zero coverage
You can actually see this happening, appearing as “bands” across the fountain roller.
When it’s time for cleanup, the I.Mer Automatic Fountain Cleaning (AFC) system removes the thin film lining the ink fountain, reducing fountain cleaning time to just three minutes.
